was born March 31, 1964.  He graduated from El Dorado High School in 1982.  He helped the Hawks reach the CIF Finals in 1981.  During his Hawk career he hit .282 with 205 at-bats, 58 hits, 45 runs, 16 doubles (T10th), 5 homeruns and  33 RBI. He was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1984 Major League Amateur January Secondary Draft out of Santa Ana Junior College where he played following his Hawk career.

Chris Cron made his Major League debut with the California Angels on August 15, 1991.  His last Major League game was on October 4, 1992 with the Chicago White Sox.  During Chris’ 12 year professional baseball career he played for the Pulaski Braves (Rookie Ball in Pulaski, VA – 1984), Sumter (A – 1985), Durham (A – 1986), Quad Cities (A – 1987), Palm Springs (A – 1987), Palm Springs (A – 1987-1988), Midland (AA – 1989), Edmonton (AAA – 1990-1991), California Angels (1991), Vancouver (AAA – 1992), Chicago White Sox (1992), Nashville (AAA – 1993), Charlotte (AAA – 1994) and Nashville (AAA – 1995).

Chris played 1,262 professional games having a career batting average of .266 in 4,493 plate appearances (5,221 at-bats).  He hit 172 homeruns, 251 doubles, 9 triples with 1,202 total hits and scored 637 runs and had 785 RBI.  He retired in 1995 and began his professional managing career in the Rookie League at Bristol (1995).  His managing career includes Hickory (A – 1996-1997), Winston-Salem (A+ – 1998), Birmingham (AA – 1999), Colorado Springs (AAA – 2000-2002), Great Falls (Rookie – 2003), Kannapolis (A – 2004), Winston-Salem (A+ – 2005), Birmingham (AA – 2006), Great Falls (Rookie – 2007-2010) and Erie (AA – 2011).  Since 1984 Chris has played in or managed 3,235 professional league games.
