Coach Lugo began coaching the Freshman team in 2018, guiding them to a 14-6 overall record and a 6-3 league record to finish in second place in Crestview League play as Head Coach.  Prior to joining the staff at El Dorado, Rick spent the previous 16 years coaching in local Little League.  He has a daughter who graduated from El Dorado in 2019 – a proud Hawk who was a member of the most recent National Champion Cheer squad.  Rick is excited to continue as a Hawk, and on top of being a great Freshman coach, he plans “to learn as much as possible from fellow coaches Lucas and Curran.  Those two are amazing at what they do, possessing baseball knowledge like no other.”

After being away from the El Dorado program since 2018, Coach Taylor returns to coach freshman and junior varsity.  Zach Taylor played in the program from 2014 to 2017, a went on to play one year at Santa Ana College. From there he worked three years as a bullpen catcher at Cal State Fullerton, he graduated in 2022. Currently he lives in Placentia and is attending grad school at Cal State San Bernardino.
